Artist's Description

A gold dredge is a floating excavator and sluicing plant. It scoops pay dirt from the ground and processes it through a revolving, perforated drum called a trammel. The gravels fall through the screen and are washed through a system of sluices that capture the gold. The course waste gravel is dumped directly out the back.
