I have recently started post processing some of my favorite color images to black and white using Adobe Lighteroom and the latest version on Silver Efex Pro 2 from Google NIK software. All of my images are captured in color on my DSLR camera in the raw format. Rather then have my camera take a monochrome image I take all of my pictures in color, which has all of the color data, providing a very dynamic file to work with. These Fine Art black and white images I posted were converted from color using my own creativity and processing technics. This is not considered photo manipulation but a way to desaturate the color channels in the image file. This diversifies my portfolio by adding a Black and White gallery.

I just posted four new Butterfly photos in my Macro Gallery. I captured these photos in the Butterfly Jungle Exhibit at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park using my 300 MM telephoto lens to get close and personal to the butterflies without disturbing them. They have butterflies imported from all over the world in this beautiful display. If you are visiting San Diego in April please check out the Butterfly Jungle at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which is located 30 miles north of San Diego

We recently took a tour down the west coast of Oregon and California in our Motorhome. We started in Astoria, Oregon and ended in Monterey California. We stayed on the Pacific Coast Highway all the way down. I captured two scenic and historic lighthouses on the California Coast, Battery Point Lighthouse and Point Cabrillo Light Station. We also took a side route though the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park near Crescent City, California. The pacific Coast Highway is one of the top driving detonations in the United States. I feel it is the one of the most picturesque drives in the country. We spent time in in Astoria and Waldport Oregon where I captured some great sunset shots.

I just spend ten days exploring Glacier National Park, Montana. I captured over 200 images including open vistas, waterfalls and wildlife. I posted seventeen of my favorite images on my website. This is one beautiful and majestic National Treasure. This is a wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. This national park is rightfully called the Crown of the Continent because of its pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, spectacular lakes and waterfalls. If you appreciate the natural world as I do, this is a must see national park. Even better, I would put it on your bucket list.

I just created a new Gallery with 26 new images of the 2016 Little Bighorn Re-enactment. The re-enactment takes place in Crow agency, Montana on the actual location where the battle took place, June 1876. The exhibition is very educational and entertaining. It includes the history of the Great Plains Native American's from the beginning when the pioneer settlers arrived on their land. How they were confronted by the Lewis and Clark expedition, introduced to Christianity by the Missionaries and the many broken peace treaties signed by the Indian Peace Commission of 1867-1868. It then concludes with the battle between the Army's 7th Cavalry and the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho Indian tribes on the Little Bighorn River.

I just posted 12 photos of the Badlands National Park captured at sunset from four deferent overlooks. The equipment included my Sony Alpha 77 DSLR and 11 to 18 mm wide-angle lens. Four of the images are Panorama's.
Two basic geologic processes formed the Badlands: deposition and erosion. The sedimentary rock layers of Badlands National Park were deposited over millions of years. The layers similar in character are grouped into units called formations. Erosion began in the Badlands about 500,000 years ago when the Cheyenne River captured streams and rivers flowing from the Black Hills into the Badlands region.
