Donald Pash Welcome to my Focus to Frame website. I'm an amateur photographer who has a passion for taking photos of nature, wildlife, architecture and other venues. My intent as a photographer is to present an image that arouses the curiosity of the viewer and provokes the viewer to think, to ask a question or simply to gaze in thoughtful wonder. I believe that experiencing the Earth's beauty through photography will help nourish and unify us, on a personal and global level. I hope to contribute uplifting imagery that will inspire and nurture a sense of hope and affection for the natural world. About Don...

While he has been an animal and nature lover since his youth in Rockford, Illinois, Don's true interest in photography came about during his Pacific Northwest travels in the mid-2000s. He was suddenly intrigued by the color and detail in some of his early digital photos captured on a minimalist's digital camera.

Don decided to take a photography course to explore his interest. More than 5 years later, he has completed the Professional Photography Course from the New York Institute of Photography and is very active behind the camera. He excels in using outdoor color and light for the most interesting composition. Don is also skilled at using photo editing software, such as Lightroom, Photoshop, for scenarios that call for image enhancement.

In addition to capturing the moment, Don has a beloved workspace where he manufactures frames, complete with custom matting, to complete his favorite piece for wall display. Hence: Focus to Frame!

Don has enjoyed photographing the beautiful lands of the Southwest and Pacific Northwest, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. He has also captured the landscapes of Montana, Wyoming, and Illinois.

Besides a passionate focus on capturing life's most interesting flora and fauna, Don has a true soft spot for wildlife, most beloved of all: the bear. His most treasured setting for bear photography is Katmai National Park near King Salmon, Alaska. A multi-time visitor, he has been awed in every season by numerous grizzlies in their undisturbed natural habitat. From the spring groupings of breeding bears to the summer and fall frenzy of salmon fishing, he has photographed numerous Alaskan brown bears and cannot wait to return for more.
